DEAR BABY,
WE HAD OUR FIRST OFFICIAL ULTRASOUND THIS WEEK AND I FINALLY GOT TO SEE YOUR SWEET TINY SELF. YOUR PICTURES ARE UP ON OUR FRIDGE AND I LOVE SEEING YOU EVERY TIME I GO INTO THE KITCHEN- WHICH IS A LOT! I CAN ALREADY SEE SOME OF YOUR PAPA'S FEATURES ON YOU! WE WERE HOPING TO FIND OUT IF YOU'RE A BOY OR A GIRL, BUT OUR APT FELL JUST ABOUT A WEEK TOO EARLY TO TELL. THE DR. SAID SHE'S 90% SURE THAT SHE KNOWS, BUT WE'LL HAVE TO WAIT 'TIL NEXT MONTH TO KNOW FOR SURE. I HOPE SHE WAS RIGHT ON HER 90% BECAUSE WE WERE SO EXCITED, WE WENT RIGHT OUT A BOUGHT YOU A FEW OUTFITS! YOU'RE GOING TO BE SO ADORABLE IN THEM. I'M ALREADY COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS TO SEE YOU AGAIN!LATELY ALL I WANT TO EAT IS BISCUITS & GRAVY AND YOUR PAPA MAKES THE BEST. AREN'T WE SO LUCKY THAT HE'S A CHEF? I JUST KNOW YOU ALREADY LOVE HIS COOKING AS MUCH AS I DO. WE'VE BEEN DAYDREAMING A LOT LATELY ABOUT OWNING OUR OWN BISTRO ONE DAY WITH YOU RUNNING AROUND. THAT WOULD BE HEAVEN.I'VE BEEN GETTING LOTS OF REALLY BAD HEADACHES SO I'VE BEEN TRYING TO DRINK LOADS MORE WATER. I WAKE UP 3 OR 4 TIMES EACH NIGHT TO PEE AND THEN I'M WIDE AWAKE, DOES THIS MEAN YOU'RE GOING TO BE A NIGHT OWL? IT'S HARD TO STAND UP AND SIT DOWN IN THE EVENINGS DUE TO A SHARP PINCH I FEEL IN MY TAILBONE. THE DR. ORDERED ME TO START WALKING TWICE A DAY FOR 45 MINUTES, AND I REALLY LOVE THOSE WALKS. I THINK YOU DO TOO! I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL YOU'RE OUT OF THERE AND YOU CAN FEEL THE WARM SUN AND SEE THE PALM TREES AND SMELL THE SALTY OCEAN AIR. WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH ALREADY! - XOXO MAMABEAR

a mama + a papa

We're now in the safe zone and I'm starting to "show," so I'm finally here to share with you  our big news! If you didn't guess from the title and the picture above, WE'RE HAVING A LITTLE BABY! If you know me personally, you know that I've kinda been obsessed with babies my whole life. I grew up wanting to be a pediatric nurse but ended up spending a couple of years as the lead infant teacher at a childcare center. I say "aww" anytime I see a baby within ten feet of me, and all my favorite blogs to follow are kiddie based. So! You can understand how thrilled we are to be having our very own little one, to take care of, stare at all day, and love with all of our hearts. We had a little scare at 11 weeks when I started bleeding heavily, putting us in the er for six hours. That was the first time we had an ultrasound and babies heart was strong and he/she was moving and dancing so much they couldn't even get a good screenshot. When G saw the screen he put his hand on his chest and went white. I thought he was going to faint, but I loved it and I'll never forget that look. Our worries were set to rest when the bleeding stopped and the results came back as a bladder infection. All is well with that now. Up until about 12 and half weeks I had a really hard time with nausea and fatigue. I was getting "morning" sickness, which should really be called all day sickness because it does just that, lasts. all. day. Particularly the sight of our Bentley's doodies, the thought of scrambled eggs, and the smell of grilled chicken were reoccuring triggers for my runs to the toilet. I'm nearing the end of 15 weeks now and all of the queeziness has totally settled, I'm recharged and loving everything about it. I'm just starting to show a little and G really wants to keep record of the progress, so we'll be doing weekly belly photos starting very very soon!

Long Beach Livin'

1. My hair is finally long enough for a high sockbun and I couldn't be more excited
2. The most heavenly donut/coffee shop in long beach
3. A few of our favorite Trader Joes pickups- The salmon dip is TO DIE
4. Puzzling together has become our nightly hobby- This one is taking us weeks
5. A delicious cheddar, chipotle, avacado burger topped with crispy fried onion rings
6. I fell in love with this avacado beach house while getting lost on one of my daily walks
7. We took a quick trip to Texas to make up Christmas and spend NY with our families
8. All TX Bentley does at the dog park is whine at our feet to get in our laps and watch the others- antisocial/people lover

Wedding Reception Disposables

We thought it'd be a cool idea to scatter a bunch of disposable cameras around at our reception party, and see the fun throughout the night from everyone's perspective. Sure we had our professional photographer and videographer, but there's something more candid about a bunch of kids and family snapping their own "amatuer" shots, and the drunker they got, the better they came out. Disposable cameras have a vintage blur to them that I love, and while I'm glad we had professionals to get crisp, classic shots, I'm glad we decided to let everyone else play photographer too. There's a lot of amazingly imperfect angles, un-centered shots, amd silly stuff we would have missed, which I think truly show the fun we had that night!

Stay tuned for the professional photos and video...we're still waiting to see them ourselves and are so anxious!
