A dose of Drey: Fact #8

A dose of Drey: Fact #8
I know sign language. After trying Spanish for my foreign language in high school, I quickly learned I'd have a better chance at passing if I chose something else. This started the interest in sign language which lead to two years in high school, and a couple years as a college major. Below are a couple beautiful ways people have used sign language. I've loved Sia for a very long time, and this mother daughter duo have inspired so much of my learning asl motivation. I can't wait to do that with my babies!

A dose of Drey: Fact #7

A dose of Drey: Fact #7
My favorite color in the whole entire world is PEA GREEN. All of my life, up until last year I believe, I've called it Olive Green when asked what my favorite color is. The color I love though, and the color of olives just aren't the same! My kind of green is that mushy pea, ugly old 70's couch, baby diarrhea green.

A dose of Drey: Fact #6

A dose of Drey: Fact #6
I love those little dancing statue of liberty people. They're so energetic and excited all the time! They're pumped on their job which, let's face it, can't be that motivating. And I love waving back at them. They freak out and get overjoyed like they were defeated before, when no one was waving back to them and their self esteem was almost off. Their eyes pop, they hold eye contact and they start waving even faster. Makes me laugh! Making someone's day makes my day.

P.S. - Let me just say this is a very poor example of what I mean by energetic and excited.

A dose of Drey: Fact #5

A Dose of Drey: Fact #5
I'm obsessed with sunglasses. I’ve got a pair in every purse, every room in my house, every nook and cranny in my car, and yet I still look when I see a display at the store, and still buy. I’ve got ever color, shape and design you can image. I even have a pair that fold up and turn into a kitty cat! Sunglasses are the perfect accessory, and they even do the job of protecting your eyes on the side! You really can’t have too many pairs of sunglasses. Are yall with me?!

A dose of Drey: Fact #4

A dose of Drey: Fact #4
I blow a kiss at those little crosses on the side of the road representing someone passing in that exact spot. My heart hurts every time I see one and I just feel sad for everyone involved. I wonder every time what exactly happened. Were they drinking and driving, did they get run off the road, fall asleep at the wheel? What did they look like, how old were they, what’d they do for a living? There are a few around my town that I’ve driven by on an almost daily basis for years now, and I feel a weird sort of attachment or closeness to them since I’ve blown a kiss multiple times and thought about their story. I know I'm not the only one who does this, right?

A dose of Drey: Fact #3

A dose of Drey: Fact #3
I get flat tires and run out of gas more than anyone I know. I guess I'm just not a car maintenance kind of girl. Isn't that what dads, brothers, and husbands are for anyway? This mornings drive to work resulted in shivering curb sittin' alone at 7am. Big thanks to my good friend Gavin once again for coming to the rescue! Even across town on a cold early morning you can count on him to be there when ya need it!

Womp womp,

A dose of Drey: Fact #2

A dose of Drey: Fact #2
My favorite food in the entire world is salmon. If I was a murderer on death row, and I got to choose my last meal before being electrocuted to death, you bet your bottom dollar it would be salmon. And I wouldn't request for it to be from some fancy five star restaurant, my favorite salmon is made by my dad. You can give me the most amazing salmon cooked by a professional chef, that is technically cooked better and yeah I would enjoy it, but I would still prefer my dads. Sounds weird, but he coats his with mustard and cinnamon (it doesn't end up tasting like it), and puts it on the grill. It comes out so juicy and healthy oily, it's just fresh and perfect! His job has him in Florida right now so it's a real treat when he comes home and my salmon cravings are filled. He always cooks a few days worth for me to bring home to my house, it never really lasts a few days though, shh! What's your favorite food? Leave me your most favorite recipes, I would love to make and review them myself! Try cooking my dad's exact version below and let me know what ya think!

Sincerely salmon,

A dose of Drey: Fact #1

A dose of Drey: Fact #1
As you come to know me you’ll learn that I have a thing for numbers. Odds, hate em. Evens, love! Now, there are certain feelings I get with specific odds and evens, for example 5’s. I don’t know what it is about fives that are worse than the average odd number, but they make me uncomfortable. Odds feel cold, blue, sad, and just down right off to me. On the flip side, evens are full of warmth, reds and oranges, fullness and comfort. Am I the only one who see’s colors with numbers?! Anyhow, 2’s, 4’s, and 6’s really rub me right, but my favorite number of all time is 26. Again, there is no sentimental reason, date, incident that happened for this obsession with the number 26 to come about, I’ve just for as long as I can remember gotten that warm fuzzy feeling when I see it, hear it, speak it. I set my alarm to wake up not for 8 or 8:30, but for 8:26. I often count how many times I do certain things and when I hit 26, I want to stop so I can hold on to that number. When I fantasize about wedding dates and anniversaries to come, I hope for them to be on the 26th of, you guessed it, an even numbered month. When I was looking to buy my house, the 2nd thing I did after liking the initial appearance of the house was check to see if the address was odd or even number filled. When I'm heating something in the microwave I set the time for 1 min. 26 seconds. This being said, yes I am diagnosed as slightly ocd. You'll see more of this elsewhere, trust me! Until then, do you have a number craze? Is there a reason for your obsession or is it just a self proclaimed "lucky number?" I'd love to hear about your 1, 2, 3's!

Sincerely,
Twenty $ Six
