Two month old Leo

The second month was full of more smiles and new expressions, lots of accidents on our big new white bed, a visit from my sister and G's mom, more outings - very short ones but more nonetheless, scaring people who didn't notice a baby bundled up and wrapped against me until he made a sound, the beginning of the ever growing bond between TX Bentley and baby, shots, cuddles, sleep, and the scariest heart murmur scare that ended up being nothing. So many pictures to sort through and so many more to come. I never want to get this behind again!

One month old Leo

The first month was full of lots of cuddles and staring and sleeping. We were on the highest high and unaware of anything going on around us that wasn't called Leo. We went on our first family walk of 3 + 2 pups, we read him his first story ever - The Lion King, we tackled the task of going to the grocery store and eating out for the first time with a baby, first Drs checkup, loads and loads of diapers, first football Sunday - which has become quite the thing with papa, met lots of family, and celebrated poppy and mama's first birthday as mama. Best gift e v e r. He flashed his little smile any time he was laid down to get his diaper changed, while watching his music mobile go round and round, and when someone said "oooo." He was most content swinging, rocking, or cuddling up with mama's milk. Let's me honest, that's my favorite too! He was a calm, happy, laid back baby and can we talk about that newborn baby smell?!

Our Baby is Born!

Exactly two weeks past his July 4th due date, I started having regular contractions and went to the hospital. The next morning of July 18, 2013 at 8:49 am he was laid on my chest. We named him Leo Luis Santinelli, Leo is my dad and grandpa's middle name, and great grandpa's first name, plus I just think it's the cutest! Luis (lou - eese ryhmes with peace) is G's pick from his family. The first thought that went through my mind was that he was so gorgeous, and I could just tell he was ours. He was the perfect mix of the both of us. He was 8 pounds 6 ounces and 21 inches long and just so perfect. Our hospital stay was so pleasant besides being exhausted, and Leo was at our side every second from the moment he entered the world. He latched on to eat immediately and flawlessly, and all the worries I had about anything went away. It was so natural and I feel so lucky that everything went smoothly. I'll never forget how special the skin to skin cuddles were in those first few days. I was so impressed with G's support through labor and I even saw him cry for the first time when he saw his son. He slept by my side every night, and was there to help me to the bathroom and with anything else I needed. As we were leaving our room to go home, I noticed we were in room s226 and had to smile. S for our last name, and 26 is my favorite number. It was just one more little thing that made the whole experience perfect. We are all so very lucky to have each other and my heart has never felt so full! Leo is everything I dreamt of and more times 642896424!

I'M BACK!

Praise the lord we got our internet back! I have SO  MUCH to update this blog on like, we have a six month old baby now! Last time I posted he was just a wee little 8 pounder in my belly! Well here he is. His name is Leo and he's the happiest little bundle of joy. He is just everything. You won't believe the backup of pictures I have of him to share...it's all pretty overwhelming when I start to think about it. The first step for me is to get them sorted, then maybe I'll just do a few "month" posts showing his 1 month, 2, 3 and so on until we get caught up to today. Whew. I am just so excited to have this back to share our photos and memories! See ya soon!
